Classic & Historic Vehicles MOT Wednesday 1st August 2012
Classic and historic vehicles are to be exempted from yearly MOT Tests, the Government has announced.
Vehicles manufactured befor 1960 will no longer have to pass an MOT from 18th November 2012, Roads Minister Mike Penning has confirmed.
These types of specialist vehicles make up around 0.6% of the total number of licensed vehicles in Britain but are involved in just 0.33% of road casualties and accidents.
Generally owners of classic vehicles tend to be enthusiasts who maintain their cars, bikes, etc to a very high standard ~ they will however still be legally required to ensure that they are in safe and proper condition to be on the road.
